Several council members and attendees praised the show. "It was a fantastic fireworks display," one council member said, adding that the display drew many neighbors to local streets. Council members discussed whether the event should return to July 4 next year or remain on July 3 depending on vendor availability and public feedback.
Council also noted that the chamber and other fundraisers contributed to the event and that a shortfall was covered through drive-by donations and the vendor’s coordination. Staff said they will gather public and chamber feedback before placing the date and vendor options on a future agenda.
The motion to pay the $10,000 final distribution to Small Town Saturday Night passed by roll call; multiple "Aye" votes were recorded and the motion carried.
