Town Board approves fireworks permit and multiple retail alcohol licenses

At its June 8 meeting the Holland Town Board granted a Class C fireworks permit for a July 4 display near N936 Windmill Beach Road and approved multiple retail alcohol licenses for businesses operating in and around the town.

The fireworks permit for Windmill Beach was approved on a motion by Supervisor Douglas Hamilton, seconded by Supervisor Benjamin Morrison; the permit allows display of Class C fireworks on July 4, 2026 (with weather-permitting alternate dates). Clerk-Treasurer Janelle Kaiser notified the chief of the first-responding fire department of the permit application on June 5 and will send letters to the first-responding fire department and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department following permit issuance.

The board also approved retail alcohol (Class A and Class B) licenses for: - AAA CG Travel Center (applicant Kamaljit Singh) — approval contingent on written confirmation from Badger Liquor that a delinquent retail hold has been cleared and on payment of the first installment of 2025 real estate taxes for the property at N905 Sauk Trail Road, including interest and penalties; motion carried by unanimous voice vote. - Holland Country and Garden Store (applicant Kevin Claerbaut) — Class A licenses approved; motion carried by unanimous voice vote. - Mirror Bar (applicant Mary Ann Bichler) — Class B licenses approved; motion carried by unanimous voice vote. - Blue Barn on the Green (applicant Jeffrey Freund) — Reserve Class B and Class B licenses approved; motion carried by unanimous voice vote.

Motions to grant licenses were made and seconded by board members as recorded in the minutes. The AAA CG Travel Center approval included explicit conditions the business must clear prior administrative holds and delinquent taxes before full license issuance.
