Jessica Kelmelis told the selectmen on April 13 that she will resign from the Cemetery Commission and from her IT position effective July 1 and that she is requesting a six‑month leave from library duties from July 1 through Jan. 1. She suggested town consultant John Shannon could take on more technical questions and said she will prepare a list of her library and tech responsibilities to aid the town in posting and filling the vacancies.
Kelmelis and Selectman Steven DellaGiustina said Civic Plus, which replaced the original Virtual Town Hall website, has not yet transferred all minutes from the old site to the new one, leaving some residents still posting to the legacy site. Joanne Duval said she will request at a future meeting that the town website be designated as an official posting site. Selectman Patrick Barrett said he is reluctant to make the site an official posting location without researching legal implications and consulting town counsel because outages or staffing gaps could risk noncompliance with state posting timelines. All three selectmen agreed the town needs to do a better job posting agendas and minutes on the website.
Next steps: Kelmelis will compile a responsibilities list for the board to use in advertising the IT and library vacancies; the board will consider whether to pursue legal review before designating the website as an official posting location.
