Board authorizes bank signers and enrolls in Wells Fargo treasury system

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy special board approved two administrative items at its July 14 special meeting: a resolution to certify signatures authorizing Mr. Schatz to sign checks, and enrollment in Wells Fargo’s Advantage treasury-management product to add a second administrator for ACH and wire approvals.

Clerk explained the signature authorization for the resolution, telling the board that “in order for Mr. Schatz to sign our checks, we need a board resolution from the board that I can send to Wells Fargo to give him authorization to sign the checks.” Committee member moved to approve the resolution to authorize certification of signatures; Chair seconded and the board approved the item by voice vote.

For the Wells Fargo product enrollment, Clerk described the Advantage online system as a double-approval platform used for electronic payments, noting it covers payments such as CalSTRS and CalPERS. Clerk said the district currently had one administrator and needed a second administrator to approve ACH and wire transactions. Clerk moved the enrollment recommendation and the board approved it by voice vote.

Earlier in the meeting the board also approved the consent agenda without items pulled. All three votes recorded in the transcript were approved by voice vote.

The transcript does not list detailed ballot tallies by individual member; the board had a quorum at roll call. The board requested recruitment planning for the superintendent position during the remainder of the meeting.
