At its July 14 special meeting, the Palmdale Aerospace Academy special board announced that it unanimously approved a settlement agreement requiring the superintendent to resign, effective July 9, 2026.
Chair said the board, in closed session, “approved a settlement agreement under which the superintendent resigned her employment effective 07/09/2026.” The Chair read the settlement terms: a lump-sum payment of $330,000 and continuation of academy-paid health, dental and vision benefits for up to six months.
The board returned to open session at 7:19 p.m. after adjourning to closed session earlier in the evening. No mover or second for the closed-session settlement was recorded in the public transcript; the Chair stated the approval was by unanimous vote.
The announcement did not identify the superintendent by name in the public statement nor provide further details about the reasons for the settlement. The board did, however, discuss next steps for leadership: Chair requested that the business office prepare materials for the next meeting to begin recruiting for the superintendent position, asking Roseanne in the business office to provide two or three recruiting-firm options, associated costs, and an option for conducting recruitment without a firm.
The board did not take other public actions tied to the settlement during open session. The meeting was adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
