The Scobey K-12 Schools board approved several personnel recommendations for the 2025–26 school year, including an emergency Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) hire, paraprofessionals, bus drivers and assistant coaches.
The superintendent and trustees discussed the FCS hire as an opportunity to preserve electives and build longer-term course offerings. The superintendent said the hire was "doable" within the budget and described potential classes (quilting, independent living, child development and related CTE offerings) that could expand elective options.
Trustees approved two bus drivers — Skip Baldy and Peyton Lybrand — pending background checks and required endorsements; discussion noted one driver wanted activity-route duties and both were willing to help with activities. The board also approved hiring Kylie Anderson and Ariana Anderberg as paraprofessionals, pending background checks, and approved the recommended list of assistant coaches for high-school and junior-high programs.
All personnel motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board emphasized that many hires are contingent on the completion of background checks and any needed endorsements.
Next steps: staff will complete background checks and endorsement verification and return any required paperwork for personnel files.
