Farmers' Market Committee approves musician and face-painter payments for 2026 season

Committee member Elizabeth Azevedo moved the budget authorization and Rich Ruppel seconded; the motion carried with unanimous votes from members present (Elizabeth Azevedo, Doreen Pack, Rich Ruppel and Chair Cheryle Jolly). Ruppel said he will submit payment requests for the first half of the market season to the bookkeeper.
Following that approval, the committee approved a set of individual payments for scheduled performers: $150 to Brad Bensko for the July 9, 2026 market; $150 to Second Chance for July 16, 2026 and a separate $150 to Second Chance for August 6, 2026; $300 to Nick Anderson and the Shady Creek Band for July 23, 2026; and $150 to The Sawtells for July 30, 2026. Each motion was made by Elizabeth Azevedo and seconded by Rich Ruppel and was recorded as "VOTE: UNANIMOUS, MOTION CARRIED."
The committee also approved up to $1,500 for face-painting services to be provided by Andrea McConnell for the 2026 market season; that motion was moved by Azevedo, seconded by Ruppel, and carried unanimously.
The meeting minutes record no opposition or abstentions to these payments. The committee clerk is listed as Karen Arremony. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
