The health representative (absent from the meeting because of travel) recommended the district participate in preparedness exercises, ensure approved preparedness materials are in place, and identify a school contact to coordinate with county health. The board discussed quarantine/exclusion protocols: county guidance requires exclusion from school for up to 21 days for unvaccinated students exposed during an outbreak of measles, mumps or rubella.
Board members asked administration to be the contact for City‑County Health and to work with health staff to develop a preparedness plan that addresses communications, exclusion procedures, and continuity of education for students excluded under public‑health orders. The board agreed to the request in principle and asked for a plan and named point of contact to be provided to the health office.
