Board approves three tuition agreements and debates pre-K enrollment order

The board moved and approved tuition agreements numbered 1, 6 and 7 by roll call; the remaining agreements received no action and were to be processed through the open-enrollment timeline.
Separately, board members and parents discussed a pre-K enrollment situation. Administrators said the district’s pre-K cap is 16 students and described following the acceptance order in the handbook (district residents first). Parents said they received a July 16 letter stating the class was full; administrators responded that a spot remained open until a late registration and that communications and dates for pre-K acceptance and tuition procedures should be clarified in future policy updates.
Board members asked the policy committee to consider a clearer tuition-agreement and pre-K acceptance timeline and to propose a formal procedure so parents have a firm deadline. No further tuition approvals occurred at the meeting; the board approved the recommended three agreements and directed administration to refine timelines and reporting procedures.
