The Town of Hildebran council approved the town’s FY 2024–25 audit and a written response to the Local Government Commission (LGC) at its April 27 meeting.
Serina T. Hinson of Lowdermilk Church & Co., LLP provided a draft review of the audit and significant audit matters. Council Member Jody York moved to approve the audit and the motion passed unanimously. Council also approved a response letter from the town to the LGC addressing independent audit findings and recommendations.
On administrative and facilities matters, the council approved a scope of work for lawn care and snow removal services; the scope requires bidders to hold license L and H and staff will issue bids, with the possibility of a special meeting in early June to award the contract. Council voted unanimously to decline a $2,430 quote from TrueBuild Services LLC to install a drop ceiling in the auditorium storage/prop room after a brief discussion that noted potential future storage above a ceiling.
The council approved rent forgiveness for HHDA (Hildebran‑Icard Community Development Council) for five months — January through May 2026 — to compensate for time they could not use the auditorium basement after a flood; the motion passed unanimously.
Other routine reports (facilities, tax, deputy, and events committee reports) were provided to council and incorporated into the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
