Kenly council approves tax reconciliation and routine administrative items

The Kenly Town Council took a series of routine votes at its Aug. 12 regular meeting, approving the meeting agenda, consent agenda, a county tax reconciliation and several administrative items.
The council adopted the meeting agenda on a motion by Council Member Mark Smith, seconded by Council Member Beverly Knight; the minutes record the vote as 3‑0.
The consent agenda, including the July 8, 2024 regular session minutes, was adopted on a motion by Smith and seconded by Garrett Stancil; the minutes record the vote as 3‑0.
The council formally approved Resolution #2024‑07, accepting Wilson County’s 2023‑2024 fiscal year tax reconciliation and asking the Town Clerk to send a copy to Wilson County Tax Administrator Crawford B. Bolton. The motion to approve the tax reconciliation was made by Council Member Garrett Stancil, seconded by Council Member Mark Smith, and recorded as 4‑0.
Interim Town Manager Tony Sears presented requested utility bill adjustments for Dennis Hales (410 E. Freemont St.) and Quality Inn Kenly (405 S. Church Street). The council approved the adjustments on a motion by Council Member Keith Davis, seconded by Garrett Stancil; the vote was recorded as 4‑0.
With no further business the council adjourned at 7:52 p.m. on a motion by Garrett Stancil and seconded by Keith Davis; vote 4‑0.
