Merrimack County commissioners unanimously approved a package of procurement contracts, two staffing reclassifications and several facility upgrades at their June 22 meeting.
The board voted 3–0 to purchase 55 computer workstations, monitors and sound bars under the State of New Hampshire NASPO contract with Dell, for a total cost of $76,338.35. Purchasing Manager Jonathan Gardner and Network Administrator Tom Trumble presented unit pricing and the procurement recommendation. Commissioner Lovlien moved approval; Commissioner Shurtleff seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioners approved a $12,390 contract with Wicked Cool Mechanical to install an HVAC split system in the County Attorney’s office, following presentation of two bids. They also awarded a $21,275 contract to Drew's Affordable Steel Roofing, LLC for replacement of the red barn roof at the Grounds Complex.
The Nursing Home requested and received approval to purchase 10 NOA Elite EX beds, awarded to McKesson as the lowest bid. The Nursing Home noted the NOA Elite EX system is the facility standard and that beds typically last approximately 10 years. Commissioners approved the bed purchase 3–0.
The board also authorized a software agreement to transition the Merrimack County Nursing Home (MCNH) from the existing Cliniconex communication add-on to InTouchLink. Nursing Home leaders estimated a net annual cost increase of about $660 for the new contract and said the anticipated go‑live would be in early October. Commissioners approved the software agreement 3–0.
Human Resources brought two personnel reclassifications for MCNH: the Volunteer Coordinator position will move from part‑time Labor Grade 8 to full‑time Labor Grade 10 to support expanded visitation and programming; an Office Assistant role was reclassified to Administrative Assistant – Scheduling (Labor Grade 4 to Labor Grade 6) to reflect increased scheduling complexity. Both reclassifications were approved unanimously.
No commissioners dissented during the recorded votes on these items. The board entered a non‑public session at 10:37 a.m. under RSA 91‑A:3, II(I) for legal matters, reconvened at 11:21 a.m., and adjourned at 11:22 a.m.
The approvals advance planned upgrades and staffing changes at county facilities and the nursing home; several projects (notably the roofing and HVAC work) are scheduled to proceed under the contracts awarded at this meeting.
