The Lake Country School District Board of Education voted Oct. 3, 2024, to authorize a payment of $33,750 to SiteLogiQ following a closed-session discussion about a referendum contract.
Chair Peter Maurer moved the resolution, which was seconded by board member Jhawn Newman and approved unanimously, 3-0, with board members Newman, Monique Henry and Maurer voting in favor. The board had convened in closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) and (g) to deliberate the referendum contract and consult with legal counsel before returning to open session at 9:57 a.m.
The resolution authorized the district administrator and legal counsel to proceed “at the direction of the Lake Country Board of Education as discussed in closed session,” and specifically directed submission of $33,750.00 to SiteLogiQ as full payment for services rendered. The minutes record no additional discussion on the resolution when it was offered in open session.
The meeting began at 8:29 a.m. and opened with roll call that recorded board members Jhawn Newman, Monique Henry and Peter Maurer present, along with Administrator Chad Schraufnagel and District Secretary Amy Adkins; no community members attended. The board adopted the meeting agenda earlier in the session on a Newman/Henry motion, 3-0, and adjourned at 9:59 a.m.
The minutes were submitted by District Secretary Amy Adkins and reviewed by Peter Maurer on Oct. 17, 2024. The board cited Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) and (g) as legal authority for its closed session.
