The New Auburn School Board voted unanimously March 12 to approve an AGR grant application, authorize a new Trojan Fishing/Snow Club and make several personnel changes.
Board President Louise Cody called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and, during New Business, moved to approve the AGR grant application; the motion was seconded by Michelle Rayburn and carried 4-0. The board then approved creation of a Trojan Fishing/Snow Club after a motion by Louise Cody and a second by Shannon Berg; that motion carried 4-0.
The board accepted two resignations: Kayla Westrich, listed in the minutes as the PreK–8 principal, and Jerry Smith, listed as softball staff. Shannon Berg moved to accept both resignations and Michelle Rayburn seconded; the motion carried 4-0. The board next approved two hires: Dawn Hermann as a speech-language pathologist and Tara Harder for softball; Shannon Berg moved and Michelle Rayburn seconded, and the board voted 4-0 to approve both hires.
Also under New Business the board approved a 4K staffing plan to operate two groups meeting two days per week, citing current enrollment levels; the motion, moved by Shannon Berg and seconded by Michelle Rayburn, passed 4-0.
The actions recorded in the minutes show unanimous 4-0 votes on each of these items. The approvals will be reflected in administrative follow-up and staffing assignments; the minutes do not specify implementation dates or funding sources for the AGR grant application. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 28, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
