At its July 13 meeting the Monona Grove School Board approved several routine but required items in a block of votes.
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda at the start of the meeting by voice vote.
Academic standards: The board adopted its annual declaration and parent notice of the district’s academic standards (primarily Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction standards, with selected external standards such as NGSS and SHAPE where noted) for the 2026–27 school year pursuant to state statute. The motion passed on roll call.
Expulsion hearing officer: The board authorized continued use of an independent hearing officer to hear pupil expulsion cases for 2026–27 (the hearing officer makes findings and a recommendation; the board retains final decision authority). The motion passed unanimously.
Calendar adjustment: The board approved a minor adjustment to the 2026–27 school-year calendar, moving a professional learning day for staff from March 1, 2027 to March 8, 2027, to align with SAIL programming; the board approved the amendment by voice vote.
Votes at a glance: all listed items were approved with unanimous support from board members present; staff will proceed with posting standards, arranging notifications and implementing the calendar change.
