Koshkonong board discusses ATV purchase and park well; clerk reports salt order, licenses and upcoming rally

The Town Board of Koshkonong on July 9 discussed equipment and infrastructure for park maintenance and received routine administrative updates from the clerk.
Supervisor Matt Hill and others discussed the potential purchase of an ATV to allow a single employee to spray roadside weeds and assist with park and cemetery tasks. Hill said the ATV could be viable and that he would speak with Keith Marsden about using some park funds for a purchase; Supervisor Erik Hoffman said he viewed the vehicle as multipurpose. No motion was made.
A resident suggested drilling a well at the park to support watering, cleaning the park restroom, fire suppression and drinking water for people and dogs. Supervisor Hill said he would collect feedback from the parks group; no action was taken.
Clerk Caitlin Kincannon reported administrative items: she will attend the Clerk's Institute July 14'18 (50% scholarship), the office will be closed during that week but reachable by phone, salt for the coming season is priced at $97.82 per ton and the town will order 88 tons for early fill, and a motorcycle rally will take place July 25'27 on Vickerman Road (the sheriff has been notified and Public Works will handle signage).
Kincannon also recapped licensing totals for the month (19 liquor licenses, 38 operator's licenses, four campground licenses, three tobacco licenses and one mobile home park license), reporting licensing revenue of approximately $6,000. She noted Sammy's Place (which holds a limited Class B liquor license) is up for sale and said unused awarded licenses cannot be revoked without an ordinance and do not automatically transfer on sale. The clerk also reported recent complaints about overgrown lawns and a semi truck parked on Twin Knolls; the sheriff will be contacted about the latter.
The board approved the bills as presented later in the meeting.
