Supervisor George Jaeckel moved that Dan Butz perform the WISLR ratings after the board reviewed external quotes ranging from $3,900 to $4,600 for the service; Supervisor Jim Brandenburg seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
On the STP grant opportunity, board members discussed applying for work on Hackbarth Road and Old 26 Road. Supervisor Erik Hoffman recommended contacting other municipalities about their grant-writing vendors and costs; the board agreed to issue requests for proposals for grant-writing services, noting that hiring a grant writer does not guarantee an award.
Board members emphasized objectivity in rating roads and said proposals will inform which road segments are prioritized for grant application. The town will return to the board with results from the RFP process and the WISLR ratings.
