Koshkonong OKs Pleasant Road work with $40,000 cap, seeks county engineering input for Old 26 Road

Public Works Superintendent Dan Butz presented two contractor quotes for Pleasant Road. Supervisor Matt Hill moved to ask the Jefferson County Highway Department for a formal estimate and to approve the county'recommended approach; Supervisor George Jaeckel seconded. Hill amended his motion to raise the authorized cap from $32,000 to $40,000; Jaeckel seconded the amendment. The amended motion passed unanimously.
Board members also discussed broader roadwork planning, including possibly engaging engineering firm MSA for Old 26 Road and applying for state or grant funding; WI Representative Joan Fitzgerald provided an overview of available state-level road funding and grant opportunities. The board agreed to solicit a quote for WISLR pavement ratings and to redeploy traffic counters on Jaeckel Road and Old 26 Road for short-term data collection.
