Windsor Public Works Committee advances multiple road, path and boardwalk projects

The Village of Windsor Public Works Committee on Jan. 14 recommended advancing several road, path and boardwalk projects toward bidding and construction and approved a scope of services for the 2025 street maintenance and resurfacing program.
Village Engineer Nick Bubolz (Town & Country) briefed the committee on a string of projects, saying a residential meeting on Jan. 7 addressed the Windsor Road West multi‑use path that will connect the existing railroad‑track path to the recently constructed path near Windsor Road and CTH CV; the project is expected to go to bid in March if residential coordination and electrical relocation proceed as planned. Bubolz said plans for the CTH CV/Lake Road utility and multi‑use path project were reviewed by staff on Jan. 3, with public plan release planned for mid‑January and bids anticipated in early February; he told the committee construction could begin as soon as the end of February because of Dane County scheduling changes.
Bubolz also reported the Charlie Grimm Boardwalk is anticipated to begin at the end of January with completion in spring and noted a Jan. 15 pre‑construction meeting. He described Depot Street improvements to add angle parking and a multi‑use path from Windsor Road to 2nd Street intended to support a future farmers market, with bids targeted for March if budgeting and electrical relocation are resolved.
On the villagewide paving program, Bubolz presented the Scope of Services for the 2025 Street Maintenance and Resurfacing Project, which covers crack sealing, chip sealing and fog sealing, plus pulverizing and repaving on selected streets. Tom Phelps moved to recommend approval of the Scope of Services to the Village Board; Kitty Repas seconded. The motion carried 5–0.
Next steps for the listed projects include releasing plans to the public in mid‑January, opening bids in early February for the CTH CV/Lake Road project and in March for several other projects, and proceeding to Village Board consideration on recommended items.
