North Bay trustees approve routine repairs, laptop purchase and revaluation; accounts payable updated to $259,998

The Village of North Bay Board of Trustees addressed multiple infrastructure and financial items at its Jan. 13 meeting, approving routine repairs, technology replacement and a decision to pursue a full property revaluation for the 2025 Board of Review.
Treasurer Robert O’Brien reviewed financial reports and the board approved spending of up to $1,000 to replace the village laptop after a motion by Trustee Rick Cermak and seconded by Constable Rocco Castellano; the motion passed unanimously. Trustee Cermak also presented a Feiner Plumbing bid of $801 to replace/repair both Village Hall toilets; the board authorized Trustee Cermak to schedule the repair without a formal motion recorded in the minutes.
The board reviewed accounts payable: December 2024 AP totaled $9,321.19; January AP as of Jan. 10 was $41,244.04; and an updated January 13 figure that included tax settlements and later bills totaled $259,998.27. Trustee Paul Schroeder moved to approve the AP reports; President Mark Schall seconded. President Schall, Trustee Schroeder and Constable Castellano voted in favor; Trustee Rick Cermak abstained. Motion carried.
On a separate motion for the 2025 Board of Review, Constable Rocco Castellano moved and Trustee Paul Schroeder seconded to perform a revaluation (rather than maintenance) using DH Assessments LLC, with the contract's backup assessor available if necessary. The board voted unanimously to proceed with a revaluation.
Interim Constable Rocco Castellano also summarized public-safety and emergency-services items reported by Wind Point Police Chief Tommy Sharrett and noted Walter Leininger’s appointment as Interim Fire Chief for Caledonia. The meeting adjourned at 8:11 PM.
