The ordinance also prohibits keeping both ducks and chickens on the same single-family property.
Resident Brantley Ruff told the Board the amendment would let him "experience agriculture" and give him an opportunity to sell eggs at the farmers market. The Board adopted the ordinance unanimously (5-0) after a motion by Trustee Ed Wall and a second from Trustee Jessica Zander.
The Plan Commission approved the amendments at its prior meeting; the ordinance will be enforced under existing Chapter 52 procedures and any enforcement questions will be handled by Community Development staff. The transcript does not specify an effective date for the ordinance.
