Onley council reviews 2026–2027 draft budget; agenda approved

The Onley Town Council met for a special budget workshop on March 23, 2026, at the Onley Town Office to review the first draft of the 2026–2027 Proposed Draft Budget Worksheet.
Jamye L. Salazar, town manager and clerk‑treasurer, presented the proposed draft budget and led the council through a line‑by‑line review. "A copy of the first draft of the 2026-2027 proposed budget will be attached to the minutes and is available upon request," Salazar said during the session.
Vice‑Mayor Bill Ferguson moved to adopt the meeting agenda; Councilman Rodney Lang seconded. A roll call vote recorded Councilmen Daniel Bloxom, Jason Campbell, Brian Corbin, Bill Ferguson, Rodney Lang and Woody Zember as voting yes. The motion passed.
Council members examined individual budget lines but did not take a final vote to adopt the budget at this meeting. Council directed that budget work continue at an additional meeting to be scheduled in April; no date was set during the March 23 session.
Councilman Rodney Lang moved to adjourn at 7:39 p.m.; Daniel Bloxom seconded. The roll call vote recorded the same members voting yes and the meeting was adjourned.
The draft budget worksheet discussed at the workshop is recorded as being attached to the minutes and is available on request from the town clerk's office.
