The Onley Town Council convened a special meeting Jan. 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Onley Town Office and moved into a closed session one minute later to discuss personnel matters affecting general government and the Onley Police Department.
Councilman Jason Campbell moved to adopt the agenda, seconded by Councilman Rodney Lang; the council approved the agenda by unanimous roll-call vote. Campbell then moved, and Lang seconded, that the council enter closed session at 6:01 p.m. "in accordance with Section 2.2-3711(A) of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended" for personnel discussions. The roll-call vote on the motion was unanimous.
The council reconvened in open session at 8:15 p.m. following a motion by Councilman Daniel Bloxom, seconded by Councilman Jason Campbell. After returning to open session, the council took a roll-call certification vote in which each member affirmed that only the matters previously disclosed were discussed in the closed session; the certification carried unanimously.
Vice-Mayor Bill Ferguson moved to adjourn at 8:15 p.m., seconded by Councilman Jason Campbell; the motion passed by unanimous roll call.
