Onley Council agrees RFP timing for new town office: 30-day response window, four-week ad schedule

Onley, Va. — The Onley Town Council provided direction Feb. 2 on the procurement schedule and advertisement plan for a draft RFP seeking architectural design and construction management services for a new town office.
Town Manager Susan Rillo asked council how long to leave the RFP open after advertisement; councilmembers agreed on a 30-day response window. Council also agreed to advertise the RFP once each week for four weeks and to allow prospective respondents two weeks to submit questions after the announcement. Mayor Henry E. Finney said a project start date of 60 days after selection ‘‘is plenty of time.’’
Rillo said a formal copy of the amended budget and the RFP will be attached to the original minutes and made available on request. Council did not set a firm selection timeline beyond the response and advertising windows; the mayor said action would depend on the number and quality of responses received.
