Windsor public safety committee recommends coyote eradication after residents report sightings

Chair Ed Wall and committee members heard public comment from residents Billy Dart (7003 Circle Tram Way), Adam Fell (4425 Dutch Diamond Way) and a resident identified only as Caleb (6987 Circle Tram Way), who described coyote presence in their neighborhoods and urged action. After public comment, committee member Robert Wipperfurth moved to recommend the Village Board approve eradicating the coyotes; Wall seconded. The motion carried 4–0.
The recommendation is advisory: the Public Safety Committee forwarded its recommendation to the Village Board, which must decide whether to adopt any new wildlife-control measures or ordinances. The committee minutes do not record a formal operational plan, timeline or budget for eradication; such implementation details would be determined if and when the Village Board acts.
At the same meeting Windsor Deputy Smith spoke to the law enforcement reports provided to the committee; no enforcement action on wildlife was recorded in the minutes. The Fire/EMS report noted that burn permits will be denied if no rain arrives soon, a weather-dependent operational condition raised during staff reports. Staff also provided economic development and project updates, including the Municipal Building, Depot Street Market, The Windsor and Fire Station No. 2.
