The Token Creek Conservancy Committee approved a motion on Oct. 1 to pay up to $500 for paint, stain and supplies for volunteer work at two park features. Paula Brandmeier moved to authorize the expense, Barb Bauer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Zach Antonio, speaking for the Friends of the Token Creek Watershed, said the group plans a workday on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon to stain the Old Mill Site Bridge and the fishing pier at the DNR Ponds; Friends volunteers will perform the work and requested the committee cover materials costs.
Committee members voiced support for the volunteer effort and approved the purchase at the meeting. No external contractor is being hired for this work; volunteers will supply labor.
