Lancaster School Board approves 2025–26 calendar, OKs Fall 2025 college course requests with one abstention

The Lancaster Community School District Board of Education met March 19, 2025, and approved key administrative items before entering executive session for a personnel matter.

President Mike Steffel called the regular monthly meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. District Administrator Wagner confirmed proper notice. Dean Noethe moved and Gina Rollins seconded approval of the consent agenda; the board approved it on a roll-call vote, 8-0-0.

On action items, Dean Noethe moved and Tanya Moore seconded approval of the 2025–2026 school calendar. The board adopted the calendar on a roll-call vote, 8-0-0.

Tanya Moore then moved and Nate Gallagher seconded approval of Fall 2025 college course requests. The motion passed on a roll-call vote, 7-0-1, with Chad Olmstead recorded as abstaining.

Later in the meeting Nate Gallagher moved, and Sara Mumm seconded, that the board enter executive session under Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of public employees. The motion carried by roll-call vote, 8-0-0. The minutes record the executive session topic as a "New teacher review;" no further details are provided in the public minutes.

The board returned to open session on a motion by Tanya Moore seconded by Dean Noethe; the motion carried 8-0-0 and the time was recorded as 7:46 p.m. Dean Noethe moved and Tanya Moore seconded to adjourn; the motion carried on a voice vote, 8-0-0.
