Lauderdale Lakes posts $125,000 surplus for 2025; water-patrol agreement revised after partner decline

The district’s treasurer reported that 2025 revenues exceeded expenses by $125,000, with reserve transfers of $52,000 and a $65,000 transfer to the Water Safety Patrol. After that transfer the district recorded an $8,500 increase in cash and an ending balance of $100,589. The clubhouse reserve was reported at $61,000 at the end of 2025 but was reduced to about $14,000 after recent levies and expenses; balances due include Adams Electric, furniture, and a first-line loan payment of $105,000.
On water-safety operations, the board approved an amendment to the Water Patrol Agreement after the partner Sugar Creek decided not to participate. Commissioners recorded that the Water Safety Patrol had $154,000 in revenue (including $65,000 from the district, $58,900 from the DNR, $27,000 from LaGrange, and $3,300 from Pleasant Lake) and $106,000 in expenses, producing an excess of $48,000.
The board also noted that a new water patrol boat was delivered to the boathouse in early April; Chief Dan Markus will outfit it with lights and a tower and expects it to be operational by the end of May. The old boat can be used until the new boat is ready. Two two-day boating-safety classes were announced for June 12–13 and July 11–12 at LaGrange Town Hall; members were directed to the WI DNR website for information.
The board set its next meeting for June 6, 2026 at 8 a.m. and adjourned the April 25 meeting on a motion by Don Sukala, seconded by Ed Stygar.
