Lauderdale Lakes re-elects two commissioners and approves 2022 budget

The Lauderdale Lakes LLLMD annual meeting on Sept. 4, 2021 at Lutherdale Bible Camp Pavilion re-elected John Gilmartin and Jane Larson to three‑year commissioner terms and approved the 2022 budget.
The board approved the proposed 2022 budget of $377,000 plus $30,000 for continuing golf course equipment and improvements, with a proposed tax levy of $277,169. Bob Larson moved the budget motion, Walker Johnson seconded it, and the measure passed unanimously by hand vote, the meeting record shows.
Chairman Jack Sorenson presided over the meeting and opened by recording attendance for commissioners and staff. Treasurer Greg Wisniewski presented the budget framework and described the use of reserve accounts to fund longer‑term projects.
The board also approved the minutes of the Sept. 5, 2020 meeting on a motion by Pete Spalding with a second from Walker Johnson. Two commissioner seats were on the ballot; nominees John Gilmartin (Commissioner #4) and Jane Larson (Commissioner #5) each submitted nomination forms and were elected to three‑year terms.
Wisniewski said a full audit is not required but the district will engage an accounting firm to review books and procedures to ensure compliance. The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
