District reports decline in Eurasian water milfoil and submits grant to refurbish harvester

The Lauderdale Lakes board received an aquatic-plant management update on Nov. 8, reporting a substantial decline in Eurasian water milfoil between 2019 and 2025 and a slight increase in overall aquatic species richness across the district’s three lakes.
Weed-harvesting activity rose by about 5% compared with the previous year. The board reported a grant application has been submitted to the Wisconsin Waterways Commission to fund refurbishment of the old weed harvester, and staff are working with SEWRPC on a five-year aquatic plant management plan.
The minutes also note the district extended the warranty on the pickup truck used for harvesting.
