Board approves four licenses including dockside liquor, entertainment and new auto business

The Slack board approved four licenses and permits at its July 13 meeting, including an outdoor gathering permit for an annual antique boat and car show, a liquor license and entertainment permit for a dockside operation, and a new business license for a used-car dealer at 866 Roosevelt Trail.
The outdoor gathering permit covers a classic boat-and-car show on the Naples Town Docks and parts of the Causeway on Aug. 8 (rain date Aug. 9), organizers said. A presenter for Mountain View Woody’s Boat Club described tents, signage and cleanup practices and said the event has run annually for decades and draws customers to local businesses.
The board also approved a liquor license for Naples Wharf LLC to allow drink service on a docked vessel identified in the application as the Song of River Queen. Applicant Ryan (S6) told the board the operation will limit alcohol leaving the vessel by using color-coded cups and will staff a gate to shrink the causeway opening during events so staff can check cups entering and leaving the licensed area. "The liquor can't leave the boat," Ryan said when explaining controls for service and egress.
Ryan also requested an entertainment permit to allow occasional low-key solo musicians during open hours; he said the business coordinates with other nearby venues and expects performances to be small-scale and not disruptive. On the new business license, Ryan said RC Auto Sales LLC plans a modest used-car sales lot with two to three cars displayed outside and that fire, sign and state requirements are in process.
A single motion to approve all four items was made and seconded; the board voted in favor (recorded as unanimous in the meeting record). The board did not attach additional conditions beyond the normal permitting process. The approvals free each applicant to complete outstanding state or building steps before undertaking events or full operations.
The board moved next to its regularly scheduled business, including a manager's report and a longer review of a comprehensive fee schedule.
