North Bend council approves $40,013 Cisco Webex renewal, accepts new streets and waives fees for visiting wineries

The North Bend City Council voted July 14 to approve a three-year renewal for the city’s Cisco Aflex (Webex) calling service and completed two routine administrative approvals related to local development and the upcoming July Jubilee.

Council approved a CompuNet Incorporated quote for the Cisco Aflex plan renewal totaling $40,012.68 over a three-year term, payable in annual installments of $13,337.56, authorizing the city manager to execute the agreement and purchasing documents. Councilor Jones made the motion and councilor Hamilton seconded; the motion carried.

Why it matters: The contract funds the city’s Webex/telephony service and is a recurring operating expense for communications and remote meeting capability. The council heard that staff presented the item at the previous night’s work session and that the proposal had been posted for review.

In other business the council voted to accept roadway and utility improvements installed by P2 Development on 1st Street, Pine Street and California Avenue as city-maintained public improvements. Councilor Schultz moved the acceptance and councilor Slater seconded; the motion carried.

Also during the meeting the council unanimously approved waiving city fees for out-of-town wineries participating in the July Jubilee Sip and Stroll event so they could pour at the city event. That motion was moved by councilor Schultz and seconded by councilor Torres.
