Public-works, police and EMS report seasonal work, hiring and equipment timing

Public-works director Singh said crews are busy with seasonal tasks, that the city has two open job postings (wastewater treatment plant operator and mechanic) with training and licensing support provided, and that the splash-park repairs will be scheduled for the fall, not this summer. Singh said the pool is being prepped for an earlier-than-usual opening.
Police reported 798 countywide dispatch calls during April, 595 of which were received by the Glendive Police Department; officers issued 37 citations in April (excluding warrants). Police also reminded the council of a Special Olympics torch-exchange event that will route through the high school and end at Lloyd's Square Park.
Ambulance/EMS representative Mary Jo said EMS recently hired Hannah Wilson (for photography and publicity), that the service is on schedule with equipment needs and is awaiting six-point harnesses for the ambulance seats expected by mid-to-late month.
