Stephens City treasurer reports strong collections; town repairs Main Street water main

Town Treasurer Steve Rickards reported a record collection rate, with real-estate tax collections at just over 92 percent and personal property collections at about 80 percent; he said late notices for delinquent taxes will be mailed. Town Manager Mike Majher noted water bills have been mailed and are due the first week of February, and that business license renewals will be mailed and are due in March.
Councilman Jason Nauman and town staff addressed a recent water main break on Main Street; Nauman thanked town staff and public works for their prompt repair and said the system is back to regular operation.
