Stephens City Council authorized an amendment to the fireworks agreement and rescheduled the Newtown Heritage Festival to Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Town Manager Mike Majher told council the fireworks company has been paid and confirmed availability for the new date. Councilwoman Mariah Smith moved to authorize signing the amended fireworks agreement to change the event date; the motion carried unanimously.
Majher said staff will contact participating vendors and groups to confirm their availability for the new date. No further contractual details or amended agreement text were provided at the meeting; council did not record additional conditions beyond authorization to sign the amended agreement.
