Fountain City Common Council approves Ordinance #70, accepts Davy Engineering plan and reschedules January meeting

The Fountain City Common Council met Dec. 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. and took a series of routine and policy actions, including adopting Ordinance #70, accepting a consultant proposal for an abbreviated disinfectant facility plan, approving an operator's license and authorizing payment of bills. Mayor Ben Adank called the meeting to order; all councilmembers were present.
Councilmember Barb Schmidtknecht moved to approve the minutes from the Nov. 20, 2024 meeting; Councilmember Christine Williamson seconded and the motion carried. Councilmember Peter Schaffner moved to approve Ordinance #70, "Confidentiality of Income & Expenses for Assessment Purposes," with Councilmember Christine Williamson seconding; the motion carried, adopting the ordinance as presented.
The council also agreed to reschedule the regular January 2025 meeting to Jan. 15, 2025. In other business, the council accepted a proposal from Davy Engineering for an Abbreviated Facility Plan related to a disinfectant facility; Councilmember Barb Schmidtknecht moved, Councilmember Peter Schaffner seconded, and the motion carried. A note on the record asked that the item be placed on the Public Works Committee agenda for further review.
Councilmember Ryan Ligman moved, and Councilmember David Endres seconded, approval of an operator's license for Maggie Pelletier; that motion carried. Councilmember Christine Williamson moved, and Councilmember Stephen Qualy seconded, approval of payment of the bills as presented; that motion also carried. The council adjourned at 7:28 p.m.; the minutes are signed by Mayor Ben Adank and Clerk/Treasurer Marcia Larson.
