At its April 26 meeting the Clifton Architectural Review Board reviewed several matters and reported to the Town Council on May 8. The ARB approved a replacement sign at 12644 Chapel Road and reviewed an owner’s statement that an automatic pool cover exempted the property at 12847 Redbird Ridge from fencing requirements.
The ARB reported it has not received an application for an aluminum carport structure recently erected at 12722 Chestnut Street, received several complaints about that structure, and determined the materials and design are inconsistent with Clifton’s historic character. The ARB moved to request the Town Council take enforcement action to have the structure removed and communicated that request in its report to the council.
Separately, the ARB requested that the Town send a letter to the Bennetts regarding an unpermitted structure on their property and offered to help the residents submit an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness. Council authorized Councilmember Darrell Poe to speak with the Bennetts and report their progress at the next Town Council meeting.
