The Clifton Town Council voted unanimously Oct. 2, 2018 to indicate the town had no objection to Dominion’s proposal for a 20‑foot fence around a local substation, provided the fence is constructed as described in the published plans and remains within the same footprint as the current facility.
Vice Mayor Steve Effros moved the council’s position and Councilmember Darrell Poe seconded; the motion passed by poll vote, 5-0. Council members noted an open house for residents to review plans and ask questions would be held Oct. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clifton Community Meeting Hall.
The council’s action is a position statement for local consideration and does not replace any regulatory review or approvals Dominion may require from other agencies.
