Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber of Commerce agreement for July 4 parade security

The Enumclaw City Council on June 22 approved Resolution No. 1,881 amending the Chamber of Commerce provision of service agreement to fund security and staffing for the July 4 parade.
Parks Director Lina Hicks explained the resolution would allocate the $15,000 already authorized by council across specific uses: $8,500 for barriers to line the parade route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staff. "The funds have already been authorized by council; this would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said, and staff recommended approval.
Council moved and seconded the resolution; the motion passed by voice vote.
The allocation clarifies how previously approved parade funds will be used for barriers, staffing and Chamber support for parade security on July 4.
