Greer — The City Council on July 14 approved a resolution to accept several Chestnut Grove subdivision streets into the city’s street inventory after staff inspection found construction and utilities met city standards.
Public works staff reported the Chestnut Grove project began in 2020; the project is in Council District 3 and staff said utilities are installed, streets are paved and about 173 of the subdivision’s lots are built out. Staff recommended acceptance of Loxton Road, Cartmel Street, Berkley Circle and Hillcraft Drive into city maintenance and ownership; council asked questions about construction timelines, the two-year warranty and inspection procedures and staff confirmed standard two-year warranty provisions apply to accepted improvements.
Council approved the resolution by voice/roll call following a motion to receive for discussion. Staff said acceptance allows the city to add the streets to its inventory and maintain them and that warranty provisions allow the city to call on the developer for any defects identified during the warranty period.
