Poplar Bluff Council adopts four ordinances and a resolution; items moved to May 4 for votes

The Poplar Bluff City Council adopted multiple ordinances and a resolution at its regular meeting on April 20, 2026. The votes were unanimous where recorded and are summarized below.
Ordinance No. 26-15 (Bill No. 8682) — Farmland lease (Poplar Bluff Regional Business Airport): authorized the mayor to enter into a lease with Drew Murphy for 93 acres of agricultural land at the municipal airport. Motion to adopt carried by roll call (Yes: Boyer, Horton, Cornman, Jones, DePew, Parson, Smith). Ordinance duly numbered 26-15.
Ordinance No. 26-16 (Bill No. 8683) — Two-bay box hangar foundation work: accepted a bid from R. L. Persons Construction, Inc. for foundation work on a two-bay box hangar with taxiway and approach at the airport; adopted unanimously and numbered 26-16.
Ordinance No. 26-17 (Bill No. 8684) — Fire Station No. 3 repairs: accepted a bid from Clinton Construction, LLC for repairs to the Poplar Bluff Fire Department Station Number 3; adopted unanimously and numbered 26-17.
Ordinance No. 26-18 (Bill No. 8685) — Farmers Marketplace permit requirements: amended Section 605.390 of the City Code relating to Farmers Marketplace stall permit requirements; adopted unanimously and numbered 26-18.
Resolution No. 2069 — Recognition of 911 telecommunicators: the Council adopted a resolution recognizing City of Poplar Bluff Police Department 911 telecommunicators as first responders; the resolution passed unanimously, was signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk.
Items moved to May 4 voting session: the lease of city-owned property at 113 Relief Street, FY 2025 budget amendments, the FY 2026 budget amendment and storm siren purchase, and destruction of antiquated Fire Department records were advanced to the May 4 voting session for formal action.
