Bridgewater board approves retreat-lot special permit for 0 Plain Street

The Bridgewater Zoning Board of Appeals on July 8 voted unanimously to grant a special permit for a retreat lot at 0 Plain Street.
Rebecca, representing Silver Terrain, described the parcel as a previously subdivided lot where two single-family homes were carved out; she said the reserved lot meets required driveway distances, provides a 30-foot-wide entrance and uses a gravel turnaround instead of a hammerhead. Rebecca also said the proposal shows grading, a proposed private well rather than a waterline connection, and conservation elements on the plan. "We actually show you a whole bunch of grading and the proposed well, as, as opposed to waterline connection," she said.
Town building inspector Steve Solari confirmed the application meets the section of code requiring a special permit for retreat lots. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. Vice Chair Anna Klimas moved to close public comment and then moved to approve the permit; member Amanda Mattel seconded. The board voted: Anna Klimas — aye; Amanda Mattel — aye; Brian Heath — aye.
The board approved the special permit under Section 8.22 with no conditions recorded on the hearing transcript. The applicant thanked the board and departed. The meeting then moved to routine administrative business.
