Facilities and Finance Committee forwards CT Schmidt GMP amendment and YMCA 4K MOU to full board

The Manitowoc School District Facilities and Finance Committee voted Monday to recommend to the full Board of Education a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) amendment for CT Schmidt and to forward a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the YMCA for a 4K program.

The committee’s chair introduced the GMP amendment and moved that the committee "recommend to the full board that CG Schmidt guaranteed maximum price, guaranteed as presented in his information," a motion that received a second and was carried by voice vote. Committee members then questioned potential project costs, notably the possibility of constructing a stormwater retention pond at the Monroe site.

A committee member asked about "the odds of the retention pond having to be built," noting it would be a "pretty hefty price tag." When asked about the educational impact, a committee member said estimates were that some work would wrap into the fall and that staff would develop contingency plans for physical-education space at Washington.

On the YMCA MOU, the chair moved that the committee recommend the memorandum of understanding between the Manitowoc School District and the YMCA as presented.
