The highest end is 350,000, assuming that you had 200 students, which is our maximum in the program," the superintendent said, noting that the district will only be billed for actual enrollment in the program.
Board members praised the YMCA's collaborative approach and noted startup support from a regional grant the YMCA obtained, which helped cover early costs. One board member said investing in younger-age services can provide substantial returns for families and students.
The committee had recommended the MOU to the full board; after brief discussion the board voted to approve the agreement.
Next steps: staff will implement the MOU with the YMCA and the district will be billed monthly based on actual program enrollment.
