Landover Hills updates soliciting permits, PEG channels and stop-sign camera contract review

The Landover Hills Town Council received several operational updates at its Jan. 20 meeting concerning soliciting permits, town media channels and traffic-enforcement technology.
Interim Chief of Police Elnos Gomez told the council that any company seeking to solicit at town residences must obtain a town permit; staff will ensure solicitors hold the required State and County permits before issuing a town permit. The announcement followed an AARP presentation the mayor attended about soliciting scams.
A resident asked about the town's PEG channels; Town Clerk Maria Diaz said the channels are currently offline and staff have contacted the service provider. The town will post a flyer on social media announcing the status.
On traffic enforcement, Interim Chief Gomez said a proposed contract for the town's stop-sign camera program has been sent to the town attorney for review; no contract has been finalized according to the minutes.
Separately, a local business owner asked about small-business support; Town Manager Rommel Pazmino said the town currently has no dedicated small-business programs but will add a town business directory to the newsletter and website, and noted State and County grant resources as possible options.
