At its June 9 meeting, the Village of Muscoda approved several administrative motions covering personnel, contracts, claims and licenses.
Key approvals included continuing to use WPPI utility billing services through December 2026 to permit additional staff training (motion Anderson, second Johnson; roll call Yes — Hill, Meyer, Anderson, E. Johnson, Wiederholt, Seifert; No — Imhoff). The board approved continued temporary employment of Cinda Johnson through June 17, 2026 and granted a $1.00-per-hour wage increase for employee Bailey Peterson to take effect after orientation (June 29; payroll effective July 13).
Officials approved a revision to a restated repurchase agreement with Cool Zone (aka KJ Cold Storage); minutes note an expansion proposal from Sugar River will be filed with the record. The board accepted a recommendation of disallowance from Statewide Services, Inc., and then approved Resolution 26-04 disallowing a claim by Greg Griswold. The board also authorized Attorney Wood to prepare correspondence to Rick and Nancy Tisdale regarding default on a revolving loan and to send correspondence to Michael Bellis concerning a complaint filed against Chief Schramm.
Other administrative items: the board accepted Scott Construction's bid for 2026 sealcoating at $1.83 per square yard and approved multiple Class A and B liquor licenses, operator licenses and cigarette licenses (applicant lists to be filed with the minutes). The board also approved payment of amended invoices, including mileage for Cinda Johnson, a DNR invoice and lifeguard certification costs.
Why it matters: These decisions affect municipal operations, staffing and obligations, set contract vendors for public-works projects, and resolve a recorded claim against the village. Legal correspondence authorized by the board initiates formal steps on a loan default and an internal complaint.
