County transit report: Lee County joins Reagan Mass Transit District; FY26 ridership about 96,000

Greg said the county formally became part of the Reagan Mass Transit District on July 1 following a June 30 closing. "Overall, for the recently concluded fiscal year for f y 26, it looks as though we're gonna land around 96,000 rides provided, which is about a 3,000 ride increase from the previous fiscal year," he said.
Greg also described capital and facility plans: staff are finalizing pre-award concurrence with IDOT for construction of an Oregon office, a proposed 9,400‑square‑foot facility of which about 7,100 square feet would be bus‑barn space; the location is at the junction of Route 2 and Pines Road. He reported momentum in capital projects and said the agency is preparing for another IDOT capital round.
Greg thanked volunteer sponsors of a June fundraising golf outing and said the FY27 budget and contracts have been approved for the coming year, leaving the agency positioned to continue service expansion and capital work.
Next steps: Greg said staff will continue coordination with IDOT and local partners as facility and capital plans progress.
