The Falcon Heights City Council approved a multi-item consent agenda at its May 27 meeting that included local business licensing, appointments to commissions, resolutions related to the city’s planning work and a county economic development opt-in.
City Administrator Linehan briefed the council on consent items, noting general disbursements of $35,739.66, payroll of $24,821.63 and wire payments of $18,331.95 listed in the packet. Linehan explained that item 2 was a local license application for an ecoATM kiosk to be located inside a Speedway store; he confirmed the applicant had submitted required documents and appeared otherwise compliant, while noting he could not attest to the kiosk’s internal operating specifics.
The consent agenda included: Resolution 26-46 accepting the resignation of Eric Brenton from the Parks and Recreation Commission; Resolution 26-47 appointing Kathryn Merriam to the Parks and Recreation Commission; Ordinance 26-04 assigning a street address for PID 212923110029; Resolution 26-48 identifying the need for funding to complete the 2050 Comprehensive Plan update and authorizing an application for planning assistance grant funds; and Resolution 26-49 exercising the city’s authority to opt in to and support the Ramsey County Economic Development Agency. No items were pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion.
Mayor Gustafson moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion passed 4-0. Earlier in the meeting the council had also approved the agenda (motion by Council Member Mogen, 4-0) and the May 13 workshop and meeting minutes (motion by Council Member Mielke, 4-0). Council Member Mielke later moved to adjourn; the meeting ended 7:23 p.m. by a 4-0 vote.
In informational items following the consent vote, Council Member May encouraged residents to sign up for the July 18 Lawn and Garden Tour and mentioned tree distribution to address heat-island areas; Linehan reported that Community Park construction is on schedule (concrete curbing poured; parking-lot asphalt anticipated later in the week) and that the city’s new website and dot-gov domain (falconheightsmn.gov) would launch within the following week. No public comments were offered during the Community Forum.
