New Marlborough Select Board authorizes regional inspectional services agreement, hires Digital Navigator

The New Marlborough Select Board voted May 11, 2026, to authorize the town to join an intermunicipal agreement for shared inspectional and zoning enforcement services and to hire Cole Rosseter as the town’s Digital Navigator through Dec. 31, 2026.
Town Administrator Mari Enoch told the board the agreement covers shared building-department services among Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge, New Marlborough and Becket for the two-year term beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2028. The board’s materials note a cost-allocation for New Marlborough; Matt Kollmer will remain the town’s Building Commissioner and Zoning Enforcement Officer under the regional program and will be assisted by a local building inspector shared with Great Barrington. Office hours for the regional program will be held in Great Barrington and the final phase of integration is an upgrade of permitting software planned for fiscal 2028.
Chair Beth Dean moved to authorize Town Administrator Mari Enoch to sign the amendments to the intermunicipal agreement; Select Board member Tara B. White seconded the motion and it passed unanimously (Beth Dean, Tara B. White and Bill West voting Aye).
On a separate motion the board approved the Cable Broadband Committee’s recommendation to hire Cole Rosseter as Digital Navigator. Enoch said Rosseter currently serves as the Digital Navigator for the Monterey Library; the independent-contractor agreement approved by the board runs immediately through Dec. 31, 2026. Beth Dean moved to sign the contract, Tara B. White seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved minutes of April 1 and April 27, 2026 (motions moved by Beth Dean and seconded by Tara B. White; votes were unanimous) and adjourned at 1:27 p.m. (motion by Beth Dean, seconded by Bill West). The meeting record submitted by Administrative Secretary Jennifer Greenberg lists the IMA addenda, the Digital Navigator contractor materials, and the April minutes among the meeting documents.
