Francestown school board approves warrant for special meeting, including SAU withdrawal article

The Francestown Independent School District school board unanimously approved four warrant articles at a June 24 meeting and voted to recommend each for a Special School District Meeting, Chair Laura Mafera said.
The board met at Francestown Elementary School and was called to order at 6:34 p.m. Mafera read the draft warrant items aloud as the board considered each article in turn. Vice Chair David Stahlin moved to accept Warrant Article 1 with one revision — removing the phrase "by ballot vote" — and Mafera seconded; the board voted unanimously both to accept the article and to recommend it for the special meeting.
Warrant Articles 2, 3 and 4 were handled in the same manner: Stahlin moved to accept each article, Mafera seconded, and the board voted unanimously to accept and to recommend each article for the Special School District Meeting. During discussion of Article 3, Stahlin reviewed the timeline required for notices related to an SAU withdrawal included in that warrant article.
As part of proceeding toward the special meeting, the board voted to approve the full warrant package containing the four approved articles. Mafera also moved to nominate Commissioner Kevin Pobst as moderator pro tem and Susan Kane as clerk pro tem for the Special School District Meeting; Stahlin seconded and the nominations were approved unanimously.
During the public-comment portion of the agenda, Francestown Selectman Charlie Pyle told the board he would share the town’s Right-to-Know form. The board recorded no other public comments.
The board voted unanimously to enter a nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3, II(c) for matters that "would likely adversely affect the reputation of a person" and later voted unanimously to exit nonpublic at 7:03 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
